A Family That Plays Together… Invents Together.

We’re the Pitkas—a sprawling, competitive, laughter-filled crew spread across Canada, brought together by a lifelong love of games.

For us, game night wasn’t an occasional tradition—it was core to how we connected. From Rook and Crokinole to Hearts and Monopoly, our childhoods were filled with epic wins, dramatic losses, and unforgettable moments around the table.

That spirit—of play, connection, and a bit of mischief—is what inspired Flip’N’Out.

Born at the Lake. Refined Around the World.

The idea came to life one day at East Trout Lake. We were playing cards, making up our own rules (as usual), when someone asked, “What if we built a real game out of this?” That spark kicked off 18 months of brainstorming, prototyping, testing, and a whole lot of playful arguing. We cut our own cards, tried different bowls and trays, mocked up boxes in cardboard, and sent homemade versions to every family unit. From Hawaii to Phoenix, from St. Maarten to the lake, Flip’N’Out traveled with us—growing, evolving, and getting better (and more competitive) with every round.

Built By Family. For Families.

At 80 and 85 years young, Karen and Patrick Pitka—our parents and grandparents—watched proudly as their kids and grandkids turned a shared love into something real. Trina, Nathan, Jason, and Ryan—along with our spouses and partners Andrew, Shari, Erica —each brought a unique skillset: design, marketing, operations, retail, entrepreneurship, and media. We’ve argued about design tweaks. We’ve tested too many strategy cards. But at the core of it all, this game has always been about creating something we could play—and pass on.

What We Hope You Feel When You Play.

We made Flip’N’Out to bring people together. It’s easy to learn, fast-paced, and just chaotic enough to keep everyone laughing. Whether you're 8 or 80, we hope it becomes part of your family’s memories—just like it has for ours. So, go ahead. Flip, stack, sabotage, and connect.
Because the best moments don’t come from screens—they come from cards flying across a table, laughter echoing through the room, and the joy of playing something real, together.

From Our Table to Yours,

The Pitka Family
