We’re the Pitka family—a competitive, laughter-filled crew spread across Canada, united by a lifelong love of games. Game nights were never just a pastime for us; they were a way to connect, tease, and create memories.

Born at the Lake. Refined Around the World. 

The spark for Flip’n’Out ignited one summer at East Trout Lake. Between friendly rivalries and made-up rules, someone asked, “What if we turned this into a real game?” That simple question launched 18 months of brainstorming, prototyping, and testing.

We cut homemade cards, experimented with bowls and trays, mocked up boxes out of cardboard, and sent early versions to every branch of the family. From Hawaii to Phoenix, from St. Maarten back to the lake, Flip’n’Out traveled with us—evolving and improving with every round (and every playful argument).

At 80 and 85 years young, Karen and Patrick Pitka—our parents and grandparents—watched proudly as their kids and grandkids turned a shared love into something real.

Trina, Nathan, Jason, and Ryan, along with spouses and partners, contributed unique strengths in design, marketing, operations, retail, entrepreneurship, and media. We’ve debated card designs, tested strategy variations, and laughed when things didn't work at first. Through every tweak and test, one goal stayed constant: to create a game that brings families closer.
